Art prompts are one of my love languages. They really help me get out of a creative rut. Prompts do the hard work for me. They take away the pressure of coming up with ideas, and just leave room for fun and imagination.
My daughter and I came up with a birthday game last year, when she was getting ready to turn 12. She had me come up with 12 different styles to represent the different months. Then she came up with the daily prompts, and together, we created a version of the Birthday Character game.
Her art prompt turned out to be a scary piece of furniture. She then turned into a scary lamp character which comes to life when you turn it on. I was obsessed!
So in order to celebrate my birthday which is coming up in a few days, I decided to share my birthday character, and the prompts, so you too can follow along!
Without further ado, I introduce you to my Strawberry Sheriff. (I bet you can guess the month and day.)
Here’s are the Art Prompts:
Since, our big move, we’ve managed to carve out daily art making time and it’s been one of the greatest joys of my life! Do you make time for your daily art making? (I really hope you do!)
Enjoy the prompt and if you feel up to sharing your characters with me! I look forward to seeing them!
