Have you guys ever had a spontaneous, impromptu desire to stop and enjoy the scenic route on road trips? Because, we did. A few weeks ago, we had the weekend reserved to head to South Texas, home of the Rio Grande Valley. We were going to visit my only grandma and spend time with my brother (who recently decided to move back to his hometown) and you know, just have a good ole time.
On the way there, we decided, you know it would be kind of fun to stop in San Antonio and grab some breakfast, right? Well of course, our little one heard San Antonio and immediately decided that we were going to take her to the Alamo, since we didn’t take her the last time we went. Basically, she’s the boss… and like, we have to do what she says (so she thinks) and because we were already going to stop, we figured why not? So here’s how one morning/afternoon was well spent in good ole San Antone!
1 // Alamo Plaza because shops, son-cones and THE ALAMO, duh!
2 // The River Walk because shops, murals and THE Riverboat!
3// Rolandos Tacos because they have the biggest & most amazing flour tortillas ever!
Finally, on the road again.
Once we were nice and stuffed, we headed back on the hwy to make it to my hometown before it got dark. Telling from the picture above, the royal highness was upset about leaving, but we promised her she’d be at the beach the next day. Stay tuned for part II. Also, if you have a few hours to spend in San Antonio, seriously visit Rolandos, BEST TACOS EVER. This was a great way to spend about 4 hrs in the city. If you visit, let me know how you liked it!
